Glen & Christy Griffin
Glen & Christy Griffin ,DVM

Veterinarian/owner

Glen was born and raised on a mixed farm in Rockglen, SK. At the age of 15, he began working for a cow/calf producer, and upon graduation from high school, he worked at several ranches and feedlots acquiring the knowledge and skills required to operate his own farm. His path did not appear to provide the means to finance that dream, so after three years, he applied to a university.

Glen graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. That was the same year he and Christy married. Dr. Doug Mann hired Glen and Christy that summer, and they have been happily employed here ever since. In May 2013, Dr. Sarah Allin, Christy, and Glen purchased the business from Doug.

Glen’s passion has always centered on cattle. Feedlot and cow/calf were his main interest (and where his experience was) but since being at the South West Animal Health Centre, he has had considerable exposure to dairy medicine and has grown to enjoy it as well.

His true happiness is at home. Christy and Glen have a young family that keeps them on their toes! Kye, Gib, and Chay constantly keep them guessing to try to stay a step ahead!

Glen looks forward to serving you in the future and getting to know those he has yet to meet.

Dr. Christy is a part-owner, and at this time, she is not practicing veterinary medicine. She is busy working at her other full-time job; raising 3 children and running her ranch.

Sarah Allin DVM
Sarah Allin, DVM
Veterinarian/owner

Dr. Sarah Allin is a practicing veterinarian at both the SW Animal Health Centre and the Associate Pet Hospital. She has a passion for mixed animal practice and the variety of cases, patients, and clients it allows her to interact with. Her interest in becoming a veterinarian began growing up with her family’s mixed farm and cow-calf operation, as well as involvement in the 4-H beef project. She joined the team here in May of 2005 after graduating from WCVM. She and her husband Devin and three sons Austin, Cole, and Wade live on, and operate a ranch south of Swift Current.

Doug Mann DVM
Doug Mann, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Doug Mann is the past owner of the Animal Health Centre and Associate Pet Hospital. He spends all of his professional time in the Animal Health Centre. His interests are reproduction in cattle, embryo transfer, investigating herd problems, breed improvement, and ranching. He grew up on a farm near Melville, SK. He met his wife Wanda in vet college in Saskatoon and were married the year they graduated in 1984. They have a purebred Hereford and commercial Red Angus operation of around 200 cows north of Swift Current. Since selling the clinic in 2013, he has put most of his focus on his cattle but still joins us once in a while.

Michelle Streeter, DVM
Veterinarian

Michelle was born and raised in Manitoba but moved away soon after high school. Life’s adventures took her all over Canada, from Ontario to BC working in different areas of the horse industry, on feedlots, and at ranches along the way. Through these adventures, Michelle was able to merge two of her passions, horses, and cattle. She found she loved learning about the management of animal diseases, animal production, and animal husbandry. In her mid-twenties, she decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian because she realized it would allow her to combine her passions and to be able to play an important role in the equine and agricultural industries. Michelle shares her passions with her partner, Lawrence Gareau, who trains ranch and cow-horses year-round and rides at a community pasture in the summers. After getting accepted into vet school, she focused her education on large animal medicine but found enjoyment in learning about companion animal medicine as well. Michelle decided a career as a mixed animal veterinarian would give her the best of all worlds, and was ecstatic to be hired at the South West Animal Health Centre. She hopes to focus her days as a veterinarian mostly on equine and bovine medicine but is excited to spend a couple of days a week at the Associate Pet Hospital as well. In her spare time, you will find her riding her horses, out running, or relaxing at home. Michelle and Lawrence are excited about moving to Swift Current and settling into the South West Saskatchewan community.

Melanie Roulin, DVM
Veterinarian

Mel grew up on a dairy farm in Manitoba where she spent her youth milking cows, baling hay and chopping corn. It was here that her love for agriculture and cows began. After completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture at the University of Manitoba she was accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK. Mel was fortunate enough to work on honey bee research during one of her summers at the college as well as attend the Summer Dairy Institute at Cornell to build her dairy expertise. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in the summer of 2023 and joined the team at the South West Animal Health Center and the Associate Pet Hospital. Mel is excited to work with producers and all types of animals. Outside of Veterinary Medicine, Mel enjoys hiking, travelling, dinner parties and going home to help out on the far for old times sake!

Registered Veterinary Technologist

Cows and coffee are her go-tos. She jokes that ‘coffee is the glue that holds her day together’. She’s always ready with a smile and a bit of conversation, which helps when she’s our Saturday girl during the fall and spring. Veterinary Technician by day (or DVM Wrangler), ‘Mom to Jake’ in between it all. A Lakeland Graduate of the Animal Health Technology Program and a local farm kid from years ago, she’s colourful and loud, bringing smiles all around.

Kim Marshall-McCann
Kim Marshall-McCann

Veterinary Assistant

Kim is our seasonal help here at the SW Animal Health Centre. She fulfills the role of Veterinary Assistant. You will find her in the barn helping move cattle into the clinic, helping keep the mess under control, and answering those phones! When she is not here you can find her on her farm at Kyle where she tends to her herd of Hereford cattle and family. We always appreciate everything she does for us here but she makes it better with that awesome smile on her face!
